Oh, yeah! I've now lost 25lbs!!! Yahooo! Last week's plateau breaker was almost a spirit breaker!!! I couldn't eat grapefruit...it made me cry it was soooo gross! Luckily I was allowed to have either cantaloupe or an orange. Funny thing, though, the last two days were Fresh Start days; set up exactly like the first three days of my program. Looking back I feel like I was always eating those first three days. The last two Fresh Start days I think I ate the least in one day I had ever eaten on this whole program. Now, it's only funny if keep in mind that I was allowed unlimited servings of meat and vegetables. Unlimited, yet I didn't want to eat. I'm now wondering if that's normal...
I don't want to eat, ever. I'm still trying to finish my snack from an hour ago (Strawberry smoothie with pureed blackberries. It's delicious, I just don't have the desire to drink it, nor eat anything else. I'll be talking with a counselor today about that; the main reason I've not gone in yet today...can't concentrate with the toddlers distracting me!! Haha! At least they give me the exercise I need!

Ah, the ever talked about Plateau...
The good news is I didn't really plateau, I lost 1 lb! But on the other hand, I only lost 1 lb...suck! So this week is BioGenic Days (5 days) and Fresh Start (2 days). It's good that I get to mix up the routine a bit, and I'm really excited for the Fresh Start! Biogenic days calls for 1.5 grapefruits a day. Having not tried grapefruit in a very long time I thought maybe my tastebuds had changed enough. Heck, I eat bluberries now where three month ago I thought they were nasty! But alas, twas not so...grapefruit #1 made me want to vomit and I was close to tears. Grapefruit #2 I had blended with a little water to make a drink...still nasty. Luckily my counselor told me I could substitute cantaloupe!!! Halle-frickin-lujah! I'm back on track and ready! Sad news is that weight loss during BioGenic days is unlikely. Gotta prepare mentally!

Danger!
I went to a wedding last Saturday, and had already placed my meal order before starting my slimgenics journey. Of course, I ordered the steak! But luckily my hubby had ordered the salmon, so we plit eachother's meals. It was a long day filled to the brim with events, so I ended up missing two vegetables and I'm I went way over my fat serving!
But, alas...I still lost 1/2 lb between Saturday morning and Monday morning. Phew! That was a close one!

The elusive 3 lbs...
Lsat week I only lost 2 3/4 lbs....soooo close! I was thinking I might be closer to 4...hoping for 5. But alas, I did not. I don't really understand. I follow my plan exactly, with the exception of maybe being short by 10oz water a day or two. And I don't always remember to take my supplements, but that shouldn't matter, right?
I guess the good news in all this is that the only plateaus I have had only lasted at most two days. I was so worried about the last one that I went in for a 4th weigh in. And much to the relief of my mind, I had lost a whole pound. :)
I'm still holding my breathe to see if I can hit at least 3lbs this week. I better be able to!!

Plateau...what plateau??!
Last Monday when I went in I had not lost, at all. It was the same as it was on Friday. I wasn't too concerned, but just to be sure, the next day I drank 20 oz extra water. Sure enough, today I was down 2 1/4 lbs!! I reached my 15 lbs milestone!!! Wooohooooooo!!! Yay me! (hehe)

Still losing...
I was a little concerned that I've lost so little the last few weeks, but my counselor reassured me. She said that most people will plateau at 4weeks, but I should take comfort in the fact that I'm still losing. So, I guess, yay me! ;)

The gym....
Oh how I miss going to my weight lifting classes, the thrill of "upping" the wieghts, meeting with my trainer, etc. It was suggested that I not lift wieghts as it would confuse the scale. Instead I should be switching to cardio exercizing. "Should" being the opperative word. I used to go at 5am and join the group fitness class. Now I find that if I don't have the group setting, and thus don't have to get up at o'dark thirty, it's easier for me to skip it. The options just aren't what I would like them to be. So, I'm holding my breathe until my 20 weeks is over and I can lift weights again. Luckily it's Springtime now and I can take the kiddos for a walk or for a bike ride!!

Easter...
Holidays are always interesting when you're on a diet, huh? I wasn't too concerned about dinner this time, though. I hate ham. But oh, the chocolate! I was sufficed with a Choc Mint Bar for my mid-am snack, which I really, really enjoyed! I did, however, later allow myself a nibble of my hubby's choc chip cookie, and then a little later a nibble of my son's choc candy. Luckily though, the nibbles were smaller than an infant's portion! I just wanted to savor the choc in my mouth, and then I was good. I was also able to finish my 80 oz water early so I treated myself to cherry pomegranite Crystal Light. Yummmy! Good thing about Easter food? Egg Salad!! I made a sandwich...2 starch, 1 protein, 1 fat, and a whole lot of YUM! Greatest victory this weekend...my mother noticed I'm not only getting smaller, but that I'm eating healthy. Not only did she notice, she verbalized it!! (Big deal coming from my mother!)
The Cookbook is Here!
I finally gave in and got the cookbook and now I wonder what I was thinking trying to make it without it! I'm no culinary genius! Now I'm having fun figuring out which recipes I do like, and which ones I'll work on later...haha! I've discovered that I really do like zucchini and eggplant. Especially roasted with Mrs. Dash's seasonings!! A counselor told me that my tastes would change, guess this is the start. Who knew I'd enjoy vegetables?
Week Two
Wow, how quickly week two came and went!! I was really streesed as I had a few guests in our two bdrm apt...four guests actually. Luckily three of them were under the age of 8 and didn't take up too much space! haha! I was concerned how the added stress would affect my weight loss journey, so luckily I had the counselors at Slimgenics to talk me through the wieght loss aspect. There may have been a little water retention, but there was weight loss! A total of 5.5 lbs!! My household size is back to normal and some of the other stress has been...well, postponed shall we say? Hopefully this means another great week!
first scale setback...
At the end of week 1 I was back up a little, leaving my total week one weight loss at 3.5 lbs. All in all, not a bad week!

Week 0 comes to an end...
This is definitely a fun roller coaster of re-training my body as well as my mind. I've done well on the food aspect, better than I thought I would on the water intake, and have learned that taking vitamins is something to work on! haha! End of the week I weighed in at 4 3/4lb less than the the start!! So close to the 5lb milestone...but that gives me something to look froward to!! Best accomplishment this week, I was able to fit into a dress that is one size smaller than I would hav ebeen able to fit into a week ago!! (and it was on sale!) :)
Week One...Bring it on!!

Day 3 comes to an end...
...with a small setback. I didn't completely understand the Prep Phase, and was not supposed to eat the Thermo-snacks...oops! So today I was up 1/2 lb. But for half a week, two pounds lost is good. Tommorrow is promising since my menu opens up to a larger list of possibilities. Good thing! I'm soooo sick of vegetables, though that could be because I only ate Bell Peppers and Broccoli...not much else I like.
PREP PHASE
Prep phase is a 3 day process of detoxing from all the bad things I've eaten and stored in my body. It's filled with lots of vegetables, meat and lots and lots and LOTS of water. Okay, so it's really only 80 oz...but dang! That's a lot of water for me.
Today is Day 3... so far so good. I've discovered just how much I love green bell peppers, how much I would rather stay away from raw broccoli, and that I really can drink more than 80 oz of water in one day!
